Help us continue our mission to bring awareness to the dangers of chemical sunscreen ingredients and help us create safe sunscreen educational signage, stickers, cards and work on future legislation around the world.
Hawaii's "sunscreen ban" doesn't go into effect until 2021, meanwhile stores continue to sell sunscreens filled with endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, allergens, irritants. Brands that did remove Oxybenzone and Octinoxate (the two ingredients on the bill) from some formulations are now marketing their products as "Reef Safe" all over the world, regardless of other potentially dangerous chemicals contained within (e.g. Octocrylene, Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate, Parabens, Phthalates, Propylene Glycol, Cocamide DEA, Phenoxylethanol, Nano Particles, BHT, PEGs, Parfum / Fragrance….).
Consumers are purchasing these chemical sunscreens because they're labeled "Safe", assuming what they are purchasing is safe for corals, aquatic / marine life, themselves and their family. They're not! #Flipthebottle #readtheingredients and let people know!
We work daily to spread the word, educate, and effect change. Mahalo to all who have supported the mission.
** We always recommend to read labels and do a skin patch test! Some brands do contain nut oils or butters and / or are made in facilities that use nuts.)
